An Aperture to the Mind of a Photographer
Danny doesn’t always want to be a photographer; but sequence of serendipitous encounter leads him into his true calling. He found a way to translate aspect of photography, the concept of light–or sometimes its absence, to his view of life. His works initiated the beginning for series of local encyclopedias, Indonesian Heritage.
Danny is the founder of Datum Photography, providing photography services for industrial, hospitality, and individual/private clients, while also providing photography workshops. In 1992-1995 he had the opportunity to photograph 27 provinces of Indonesia for the Life in a Site (LIAS) program which later transformed into the Ensiklopedia Modern Indonesia Heritage (1998, Archipelago Press). Since 2016 his concern to Culture and tradition of Nusantara has bring him closer to various non-commercial photography exhibition.
