Volunteers

If you have an itch of wanting to help us out in any way, there are plenty of areas that you can do that for TEDxJakarta where we can help to transfer your talents and skills to something that can contribute to a better and more productive forum where great ideas are shared.

Cameraman
To inspire more than just the limited number of live audience, we videotape our speaker talks that will be uploaded into our website for anyone to watch. We need volunteers to take the video during each talk. We also welcome volunteers who would like to bring their own professional video camera, including the microphones.

Subtitle
Although we encourage our speakers to present in Bahasa Indonesia to serve our primarily Indonesian audience, we also want others to be inspired as well. Therefore, we need volunteers who are fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English to do subtitling for our videos. Each speaker presents for approximately 18 minutes and subtitling for 1 speaker varies from 2 to 3 hours.

Video editing
We also need volunteers to edit the videotaped talks. When we say editing, we don't mean a highly complex and creative editing process, as the video must only be segmented into individual talks that can be uploaded and wathed per speaker. This volunteer does not necessarily have to be the cameraman.

Photography
We need volunteer photographers for each event who preferably own and use professional cameras. These pictures will be posted on our website and other publication materials.

D-day volunteers
Up until now, the only D-day volunteers we require are those behind the registration desk. Rest assured, we usually put the registration desk inside the event area so that the volunteers can still watch the speakers.

Sponsors

Apart from, and in some areas similar to, the volunteering areas above, we also highly welcome sponsorship for our event. Since TEDxJakarta is a non-profit organization that also does not charge fees to the participants, we would be more than happy to receive sponsorship, preferably in kind, for the following things:

Venue
After speakers, this is the next most essential item of our event and surely the most costly. Please let us know if you either have connection to a particular room or represent an institution that manages one that has the potential of being a venue for a TEDxJakarta event. Our only requirements for the venue is that it is a proper screening room, has the capacity for at least 150 people, and located in Jakarta.

Food and drinks
To ensure the full-functioning of our brain during our mind-and-heart engaging events, we highly require good food and drinks to be available during our break and especially "The Conversations" session.

Screen and projector
There are some venues that either do not come with a screen and projector or do not have those that fit our specifications. Therefore, we welcome sponsorship in the form of these two items that are preferably of good quality (projector) and size (screen).

Sound system and hands-free microphone
Similar to the case above, unfortunately some venues do not come with good sound system and hands-free microphone that we require to ensure a completely flexible style of presenting.

In return for sponsorship, we offer to acknowledge sponsors in the printed program and materials, invitation, and our website. Be sure to know that any kind of sponsorship would truly help the TEDxJakarta team, as it would help soothe our pockets :)
